Byblos Bank Armenia will finance the participation of two young chess players, Grandmaster Mamikon Gharibyan and FIDE Master Rudolf Pashikyan, in four prestigious international tournaments.
In 2026, Mamikon Gharibyan, a four-time European youth and junior champion, will compete in two international events.
From May 3 to 10, he will travel to Italy to take part in the Sardinia World Chess Festival, followed by another international competition later in the year.
Rudolf Pashikyan, a three-time Armenian champion, will also participate in two international tournaments with the support of Byblos Bank Armenia.
He will compete in the 2026 World Youth Chess Championship in Italy from June 14 to 27, and in the European U20 Chess Championship in Montenegro from August 5 to 16.
Participation in prestigious international tournaments represents a significant milestone in the careers of young chess players and forms an integral part of the Bank’s educational corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Education remains a key priority for the Bank, and for the third consecutive year, it continues to invest in the development of talented and promising chess players.
