On December 18, Byblos Bank Armenia CEO Hayk Stepanyan participated in the panel discussion "30th Anniversary of the Armenian Dram: Developments and Perspectives".

The discussion at the Faculty of Economics and Management of Yerevan State University (YSU) sought to study the problems of various sectors of the economy with the participation of faculty students.

During the event, Hayk Stepanyan weighed in on the challenges facing the banking sector, cyber security, protection of personal and financial data, as well as the future of the Armenian dram.

Also attending the discussion were Governor of the Central Bank of Armenia Martin Galstyan, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management at YSU, Associate Professor Karlen Khachatryan (PhD), former Governor of the Central Bank (1994-1998), Chairman of the Board and Executive Officer of Garni Invest UCO Bagrat Asatryan and Converse Bank CEO Andranik Grigoryan.

Martin Galstyan spoke about the history of the dram, future plans, as well as policies being implemented by the Central Bank of Armenia.

Dean of the University’s Faculty of Economics and Management Karlen Khachatryan noted that the event marks the beginning of discussions of important economic and social issues in a new format with the active participation of leading experts in the industry.

Rapid financial, geopolitical and technological developments contribute to holding such discussions more often in order to introduce future professionals to the problems in the field and to come up with strategic solutions for them.
